Why is it hard to eat more plants?
You don’t have to become vegan, but you should be eating more plants and eating more plants doesn’t mean missing out on foods you love!

“David Attenborough recently said that people need to eat a predominantly plant based diet as the world just cannot support billions of meat eaters, but why is it so hard to persuade people to eat more plants? Welcome back to my Wednesday thoughts!
I think that deep down most people know that eating meat isn’t healthy or sustainable. There have been enough scientific studies over the years linking the meat industry to health problems, climate change and disease, but food isn’t just fuel for your body, it’s more than that. Food is tied to culture, traditions, celebrations and masculinity and I think when people hear ‘eat less meat’ they sometimes take it as a personal attack.
People know that industrial farming is an awful industry for the animals and for the planet, but I think for a lot of people it’s just easier to ignore it and pretend it’s not happening.
Unfortunately the internet rewards outrage and there seems to be a huge divide between people who eat meat and those that don’t, but actually data shows that there are more people now than ever before making a conscience decision to choose more plant based products.
And I think that’s the key point. We need progress over perfection. You don’t have to become vegan overnight to create positive change, but we should celebrate everyone’s efforts to eat a little more consciously.”
