Is it negligent to raise a child vegan?
I recently was called a child abuser for raising my child vegan. It is negligent or is it just parenting?

“Is it negligent to raise a child as vegan? Welcome back to my Wednesday thoughts.
Someone recently commented calling me a child abuser because we're raising our toddler vegan. As a vegan family, we're raising our child vegan too and to me it just makes sense. But some people seem to have very different views.
It's interesting that some people automatically assume that vegan means unhealthy. In reality, the healthiness of a diet depends on what you're actually eating, not just the label attached to it.
Every parent makes choices for their children based on their values and beliefs. Some families avoid certain foods because of allergies, culture, or religion. So as someone who ethically disagrees with using animals as products, why would I teach my child that it's okay?
Whichever diet you're following, if you're feeding a child, you're going to be taking their nutrition seriously. Following a vegan lifestyle is no different. If people are curious about how vegan children get certain nutrients, there are plenty of respectful ways to ask questions. But it's very different to assume a child is being neglected simply because they don't eat animal products.
We're teaching compassion, being mindful about where food comes from and making choices that align with what we believe as a family. Why do you think vegan parenting gets such a strong reaction compared to other parenting choices families make for their children?”
