AI recipe accounts!

“Can we have a chat about AI recipes?  Welcome back to my Wednesday thoughts!

I don’t know if it’s just my feed, but all of a sudden I’m seeing SO many clearly AI-generated recipe posts, and honestly some of them make absolutely no sense!

I’ve never used AI to create a recipe myself, so I can’t comment on whether it can be useful or not, but the posts I’m seeing are completely off.  The AI-generated photos of the bakes don’t even match the ingredient lists, so there’s no way you’d end up with anything remotely like the photo if you actually followed the recipe.

Can you imagine being a beginner baker and not realising?  You’d carefully follow every step, waste time and ingredients and end up confused and disappointed when the bake looked nothing like the completely unrealistic photo.

I think it also puts people off trying recipes they find online altogether.  There are so many incredible recipe creators online who spend hours testing recipes, tweaking ingredients, taking hundreds of real photos and sharing genuinely helpful baking tips and advice.  But how is someone supposed to tell the difference between real people tried and tested recipes and AI-generated nonsense?”
