Easy Valentines Day Hot Chocolate Stirrers

Spring hasn't quite sprung yet and this chilly weather is perfect for cosy hot chocolate drinking! These hot chocolate stirrers are so easy to make and really level up your hot chocolate game!

These hot chocolate stirrers have a chocolate shell filled with hot chocolate powder, mini marshmallows and sprinkles, all ready to stir into hot plant milk to make the perfect cosy hot chocolate.

This recipe makes three hot chocolate stirrers. They are best used with a day or so or wrapped in clingfilm for any longer, as the candy canes get sticky.

Makes 3 hot chocolate stirrers

Stirrer ingredients;

150g vegan chocolate

6 tsp vegan hot chocolate powder

3 tsp mini vegan marshmallows + extras for decorating

3 pink candy canes

3 tsp vegan sprinkles - optional

You will also need; a microwavable bowl, spoon, palette knife or butter knife, silicone heart shaped cakepop mould

How to make your stirrers;

  1. Melt your chocolate in the microwave in small bursts, stirring in between

  2. Once melted, coat the insides of the cakepop mould with a layer of chocolate

  3. Tip out any excess chocolate back into the bowl and use the palette knife or the back of a butter knife to scrap any extra chocolate off the mould

  4. Pop the chocolate filled mould into the fridge for around 10-15 minutes until the chocolate sets

  5. Once the chocolate shell has set, place 2 tsp of hot chocolate power and 1 tsp of mini marshmallows into each shell

  6. Unwrap the candy canes and balance them into each chocolate shell, the hooked end in the mould, on top of the hot chocolate powder and marshmallows to make the handle for the stirrer

  7. Cover the back of each chocolate shell with more melted chocolate. Make sure to cover the candy cane and any holes so that the handle and hot chocolate powder stay inside

  8. Add extra mini marshmallows and sprinkles to the chocolate on the back of each mould to decorate

  9. Pop the mould back into the fridge for another 30-60 minutes until everything is fully set together

  10. Heat a cup full of plant milk until it is piping hot

  11. Gently release your hot chocolate stirrer from the mould and swirl into the hot milk

  12. Depending on how hot your milk is, it may take a minute or two of stirring to melt the outer shell and release the hot chocolate powder into the milk

  13. Mix thoroughly and enjoy your hot chocolate drink!
