Chocolate strawberries may be a classic Valentine's Day treat, but have you ever tried a twice dipped strawberry? A super simple, no bake make and delicious to eat! With a mixture of dark chocolate, white chocolate and strawberries you can't go wrong!

Chocolate covered strawberries are one of those treats which take very little effort to make but they look amazing and taste even better! With these twice dipped, TruFru inspired dupes, you get a delicious taste of both dark and white chocolate with every bite of your strawberry.

This recipe makes around a dozen chocolate dipped strawberries, depending on the size of your berries. If stored in the fridge, they are best eaten within a day or so of making or you can freeze them TruFru style!

Makes around 12 strawberries
12 ripe strawberries
125g white chocolate
125g dark chocolate
Edible gold leaf - optional
You will also need; two small microwavable bowls, two spoons, baking paper, tray or chopping board, 12 cocktail sticks, two small piping bags - optional
How to make your strawberries;
Wash your strawberries and dry them thoroughly using a clean tea towel or kitchen paper
Lay a piece of baking paper over a tray or chopping board. This will just make it easier to move your strawberries in and out of the fridge
Insert a cocktail stick into the top of each strawberry next to the stalk and set the berries on the baking paper. This will just make it easier to fully cover each berry in chocolate
Add the white chocolate to one bowl and the dark chocolate to the other and melt in the microwave in short bursts stirring in between until both chocolates are melted
Dip six of the berries into the white chocolate. Hold them by the cocktail stick to make it easier to fully cover them in the chocolate. Shake them gently to remove ant excess chocolate before setting each berry back on the baking paper
Repeat dipping the other six strawberries but this time into the dark chocolate
Once all the berries have their first coat of chocolate put the whole tray into the fridge for 15-30 minutes until the chocolate has set
Carefully reheat your melted chocolate if it has started to slightly set
Now dip each strawberry again to give them a second coat of chocolate. Dip the white chocolate covered strawberries into the melted dark chocolate and dark chocolate covered strawberries into the white chocolate, so that they all end up with one coat of white chocolate and one coat of dark chocolate
Place the tray back into the fridge to set the second coat of chocolate
Once the berries are set you could decorate them with alternating chocolate drizzles if you would like. Add any remaining chocolate to small piping bags and drizzle it over the berries to make a decorative pattern
If you're feeling extra fancy, give your chocolate covered berries a little sparkle with some edible gold leaf. Gently pick up the edible gold leaf with tweezers or a food safe paintbrush and carefully dust it onto the strawberries
Remove the cocktail sticks from the berries and now they are ready to eat!

Tips & Tricks!
I used Moo Free dark and white chocolate
My edible gold leaf is from Barnabas Gold; https://amzn.to/3O5ip04 If you use gold leaf, please make sure that it is from a certified edible brand, as lots of gold leaf is just for crafting and is not edible!
Melt your chocolate in very short bursts and stir in between. It is very easy to burn the chocolate in the microwave, especially vegan white chocolate!
